Jan Sigmon, Founder

Jan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.  She earned her law degree and practiced corporate law for over 15 years in blue chip US law firms and companies headquartered in NYC. Jan has spent more than the past decade as a senior marketing professional for LinkedIn, BlackRock, Colliers International and GVA Williams Real Estate. Having built brand identities for world leaders in technology, asset management and real estate, she will expertly build the personal narratives or “brands” of her student clients.

For over 25 years, Jan has been a University of Pennsylvania alumna interviewer for NYC applicants and a member since inception of Penn’s Virtual Alumni Interviewing Committee that serves international applicants and students from across the US. She has gained unparalleled and intimate knowledge of the college admissions process, having conducted myriad interviews of a broad range of student applicants.  A tireless and dedicated volunteer for Riverdale Country School (one of the premier independent preparatory schools in the US), she has also spent countless hours working with under-served students throughout the New York metropolitan area through a variety of organizations and programs in an effort to help students gain admission to top college preparatory schools, summer programs and universities.

Jan serves on the Board of Overseers of The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing, Penn Parents Council, and the Trustees Council of Penn Women.  She is an avid traveler, tennis player, and film and theater lover. Jan is a long time Manhattan resident who has joyfully shared nearly 30 years with her husband, a partner in a private equity investment firm, and her three children: two daughters who are Ivy league university graduates, one now a sales and trading professional in an investment bank, and the other, a marketing professional; and a son, a high school senior and Division 1 athletic recruit, who will enter an Ivy League university this fall.
