Our Mission
how we do what we do
The University Playbook expertly and distinctively guides prospective college students and their parents through every step of the college process, from individualized student assessments to interview skills training, summer program and college identification, application and essay assistance, and so much more. Through thoughtful planning and a realistic, holistic approach that helps students identify, articulate and develop genuine interests about which they are enthusiastic, The University Playbook helps students build an enduring personal narrative. This will serve as an authentic “brand” that best personifies the individual, allowing the student to stand out from other applicants by making an indelible impression on the colleges of the student’s choice. The University Playbook knows how to help students realize their best futures.
Most prospective college applicants begin the process far too late—often not until second semester junior year. High school advising departments have limited time and resources and must balance competing institutional interests of entire classes of students. The University Playbook works on a highly personalized basis with limited numbers of students across different grades and schools. In an effort to avoid unnecessarily stressful junior and senior years and portray students in the best possible light to colleges, we encourage students to begin the college process no later than the end of 9th grade to build a personal narrative by which to “brand” themselves to stand out in the college application review process. The University Playbook offers individualized programs that support students throughout high school. Limited service programs are also available, as The University Playbook seeks to help students of all learning styles at any stage of the college admissions process.
