The University Playbook provides highly individualized college advisory and planning services to most effectively and efficiently navigate the college admissions process. We help students build their authentic personal narratives and brands, and fully prepare them for, and expand their knowledge and confidence regarding, the college application process.

General Services

High School Freshmen & Younger

  • Review the student’s academic transcript
  • Identify, develop and refine the trajectory for realizing the student’s authentic personal interests and goals
  • Evaluate and plan high school course selection
  • Explore and identify goal-oriented summer programs, camps, internships, coursework, employment, and community service
  • Assist with summer program applications
  • Discuss standardized testing and test preparation methods
  • Advise student athletes regarding recruitment, including highlight reel creation and college ID camps
  • Referral to high quality, effective high school academic and standardized testing tutors, as needed
  • Begin creating your University Playbook to build an authentic personal narrative that serves as a “brand”
 

Services for Sophomores & Juniors:

  • Refine your University Playbook by pursuing extracurricular activities of genuine interest to the student that naturally evolve into leadership roles because of student enthusiasm for, and interest in, the pursuits
  • Identify and pursue goal-oriented summer programs, camps, internships, coursework, employment, and community service
  • Assist with summer applications
  • Work with students to develop interview skills; prepare for summer interviews, as needed
  • Advise student athletes regarding recruitment, including highlight reel creation and college ID camps
  • Identify a realistic, wide-ranging college list
  • Plan for teacher and third-party college recommendations
  • Plan productive college visits by learning what questions to ask and what to explore
  • Plan schedule for standardized test-taking (ACT, SAT, Subject Tests, TOEFL, AP) and test preparation methods
  • Refine high school course selection
  • Review the student’s academic transcript, personal interests and goals
  • Referral to high quality, effective tutors, as needed
  • Continue building personal student narrative/brand
 

Services for Seniors:

  • Identify and refine essay topics for applications
  • Interview preparation and skills refinement for college admissions, alumni, and if applicable, sports programs/coaches interviews
